Salzburg

Salzburg, overlooked by the fortress upon the hill, was wonderful, & hot. So hot, in fact, that as we walked into the home of Mozart, full of fans and every effort to cool down the room, I remember it only getting hotter. The air conditioning wasn’t up to par for dealing with this record breaking heat, and the stagnant air provided no relief.

However we did enjoy ourselves and it was beautiful, especially in the evening. We rode bikes out to Hellbrunn Castle, saw sights from the Sound of Music, listened to a string performance in the fortress, and attended church, where the AC was also not useful.

Notice the many sound of music scenes depicted. The first is the back of the von Trapp’s house, however –fun fact!– a different house was used to film the front and the back.
